What is P.E.I Ratings ?

PEI” is the Abrasion Resistance for Porcelain Enamel Institute. A PEI rating is given to a tile product based on the hardness of its glaze.

P.E.I. – 1 Suitable for walls, bathroom, and bedroom floors.

P.E.I. – 2 Suitable for light traffic environments like the floor of a house.

P.E.I. – 3 Suitable for moderately heavy traffic area floors, like the entrance and the corridor.

P.E.I. – 4 Suitable for heavy traffic area floors like restaurants, shopping stores. etc.

P.E.I. – 5 Suitable for floors subject to heavy foot traffic and abrasion, such as shops, hotels, restaurants, offices, schools, exhibition halls, etc.
